A
TYPICAL DAY
Good learning is stimulated by two key ingredients:
~ the chance to explore outdoors at different times of year
~ the freedom to play, imagine, experiment and create
We start a workshop day with a walk outside to see what is in flower and fruit…to
discover colours and textures that we want to play with in our initial soap
making experiments. What we find will change according to every season!!
The
second half of the day involves a hands-on, step-by-step journey through the
process of making a vegetable oil soap.
We will learn about:
~the properties of plant oils
~how to make soap recipes
~special techniques (marbling, embedding….)
~oils for skin care, infusing oils
~moulding and curing
Other areas are open to exploration depending on the questions you bring with
you!
~distillation of essential oils
~plant study and making use of the herbal properties of plants
~ recipe making
~
specialty oils
